"CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT"

As a teacher, before you enter to your classroom to start your class discussion, you should first know the classroom management. Classroom management is an integral part of teaching. A good classroom management establishes a learning atmosphere which permits pedagogical activities to be carried of efficiency and economically. It also ensures wise use of the teacher’s and the learner’s time. There are four approaches in classroom management. First, the assertive approach, this approach to classroom management expects the teacher to specify rules of behavior and consequences for disobeying them. These rules can give a clear communication of the teachers to the learners. It is important to the learners to know and realize that they should be held accountable for their action. Second, business-academic approach, where student behave in an orderly manner and are involved enthusiastically in learning, exist where teachers have a clear idea of the type of classroom conditions, students behavior and instructional activities they wish to produce. A good instruction, standards for forms, neatness, and due date, and procedures of absent of pupils are the clear communication of assignments and work requirement of the teacher. And also, the teacher should monitor always their students. Third, the behavior modification approach, it involves various techniques and methods, that rang from simple rewards to elaborate reinforcement training. This approach was identifying the behavior of the learners. Fourth approach, group managerial approach, discipline on classroom management that is base of Jacob Kounin’s research. It emphasized the importance of responding immediately to group. The classroom management will be improved by giving a discipline to the learners. Since good classroom discipline is essential to an effective learning situation, all teachers must maintain better approaches whose these behavioral problems can be minimized to a tolerable level.
