Module is one of the materials using in teaching. A module is a
self-contained and independent unit of instructing with a primary focus on
few-defined objectives. There is a different type of module according to the
subject matter that you are going to discuss but they have the same criteria.
The criteria of a good instructional module: it should be self-contained in
such that the learner will be able to achieve the objectives independently of
the teacher. It should be self-pacing which in every learner has a progress at
their own individual rate. The topic or the subject matter of your module
should be short enough and well-defined by your learner. It could be clarify
the objectives and of activities by which they may be achieved is motivating enough
to students. Also, it should provide an opportunity for interaction with
learner. Your module should contain a good instructional in a clear, simple,
concrete and more abstract from one period to another period in order to
understand every word that was written in the module. Module learning has a
component. The title, target population, overview, objectives, instruction to
the learners, entry behavior and prerequisite skills, pretest, pretest feedback
and evaluation, learning activities, post-test, post-test feedback and
evaluation and teacher’s manual or guide.
